Struga Municipality
Struga (Macedonian: Струга, Albanian: Strugë) is a municipality in western Republic of Macedonia. Struga is also the name of the town where the municipal seat is found. Struga Municipality is part of the Southwestern Statistical Region.
Geography
The municipality borders Lake Ohrid to the south, Debarca Municipality to the east, Centar Župa Municipality to the north, and Vevčani Municipality and Albania to the west.
Demographics
According to the last national census from 2002 this municipality has 63,376 inhabitants.[2] Ethnic groups in the municipality include:
- Albanians - 36,029 (56.5%)
- Macedonians - 20,336 (32%)
- Turks - 3,628 (6%)
- Vlachs - 656 (1%)
- Romani - 116 (0.2%)
- Serbs - 106 (0.2%)
- Bosniaks - 103 (0.2%)
- Others - 2,402 (4%)
